My First Post as a blogger

Hello Everyone,
This is my first time blogging! I am excited to try something new and maybe keep friends and family updated with my cute little family I have! I have a new love in my life ~Brayden Derek Hawk~! My baby boy will be 3 weeks on Wednesday! He was born March 28, 2012 at 8:29 pm he was 7lbs, 7oz and 20 inches.  He is a very good and sweet baby! This is my first baby so I did not know what to expect really but I am learning new things everyday!

I was scheduled to be induced that morning.  We went to the hospital got up to the OB department around 7am. Then at 7:30am my Dr. came in broke my water.  I started having contractions around 9:30 am.  They got very intense.  Also, the baby was on my sciatic nerve so every contraction would cause that to hurt even more! I finally was dilated to 5 at noon.  So, the Dr. said I could have my epidural.  The anesthesiologist came in to give it me. It took the guy 6 times to get it! He told me he had been doing this for 23 years, but he had been off for 6 weeks and lucky me I was his first patient! Well he finally got it and within minutes I couldn't feel anything! So, for the rest of the afternoon Derek, me, my godmother, dad, and soon to be mother in law just visited all afternoon waiting for me to dilate to 10. Around 5:30 I finally dilated to 10 but still could not feel my contractions so the Dr. started pitocin. At the last minute Derek and I both decided to have Sheila my godmother in the room during delivery. With not having my mom physically here it was the next best thing! At 6:30 I started to push and push and push! I pushed for 2 hours! Finally after hearing whispers of possible C-section baby Brayden was delivered at 8:29pm. The cord was wrapped around his neck. He did not cry at first! I knew something was wrong. Worst feeling in the world just laying there in bed no knowing if your baby is going to be okay. He was send to the nursery and Respiratory therapist came up and asset him.  Luckily he got better with little help and did no have to be transported to Blank. I finally got to hold my baby boy at 11:15 pm!!

I am so blessed and love my little family!
